Psalm 22 is a passionate portrayal of a righteous, believing man. It provides us with a model for how we can deal with grief and sorrow as believers. Above all, the psalm points to Jesus Christ and provides us with a vivid description of His suffering and agony on the cross. Through His death, Jesus, the light of the world, descended into the darkness so that we may be delivered from eternal darkness.
