The Heart of True Worship
(Haggai 2:10-19)
by Joel Sim
Three months after resuming the rebuilding of the temple, God speaks once again to His people. Not because the work has ceased, but because God wants to address the hearts of His people. This means not depending on outward religious acts as a gauge of holiness, like rebuilding the temple, but turning back to God in true repentance and faith.

God Builds His Temple
(Haggai 2:1-9)
by Aaron Akins
As God's people are in the midst of building the temple, there is a sense of despondency as they realise that it is a far cry from the former temple of Solomon's time. In light of this, God exhorts His people through Haggai to "be strong" and trust in Him because He is with them. At the same time, this temple looks forward to the final temple of God when Christ returns and brings all nations under Him.

When You Hear God’s Voice
(Haggai 1:12-15)
by Tan Huai Tze
In Haggai 1:12–15, God’s people hear His voice after 16 years of neglecting His house and everything changes. Out of a new allegiance, they obey and fear the LORD. He assures them of His presence and power, and awakens them with a zeal for Him and the work they had long delayed. When you truly hear God speak, He too gives you a new allegiance, assurance and awakening.

Give Careful Thought To What You’re Building
(Haggai 1:1-11)
by Tan Huai Tze
God, through Haggai calls us to give careful thought to what we are really building. God’s people had neglected His house while building their own. Yet Christ, the true temple, was destroyed and raised for us, calling us to give ourselves to building His body, the church.
