Rising with Christ
(Luke 24:1-12, Romans 6:5, 8-11)
by Tan Huai Tze
On Easter, we remember the resurrection of Jesus. It’s is both proof that He is who He says He is, and power for living. Rising with us, Jesus gives us His light that pierces the darkness, His love that continues forever, and a life lived with vision, mission and certain hope.

Dying with Christ
(Luke 23:44-49, Romans 6:5-8)
by Tan Huai Tze
On Good Friday, we remember the death of Jesus. He died in our place as a substitute, but also in union with us as our representative (Romans 6:5). His death counts as our death. Because of that, He takes away our darkness, our disconnection and even our death itself when trust in Him.

The Priority of Following Jesus
(Luke 9:57–62)
by Tan Huai Tze
Jesus meets three people on the road—two volunteer to follow Him, and one is called by Him. In each case, Jesus exposes a hesitation of the heart and shows that following Him must take priority over comfort, custom, and compromise. Yet the One who calls us to follow Him is the One who gave Himself up for us.

Following the Rejected Saviour
(Luke 9:51–56)
by Tan Huai Tze
Jesus sets His face toward Jerusalem and the cross. Rejected by those He came to save, He refuses immediate judgment and continues His mission of grace. To follow Jesus is to follow the rejected Saviour on the road to the Cross.
