Paul exhorts Timothy to remember Jesus in his effort to endure in Christian ministry in 2 Timothy 2. What lessons can we learn from this for our own witness, evangelism and discipleship efforts?

Lament
Psalm 13
by Tan Huai Tze

To get through troubled times, we need to learn the language of lament. This teaches us to come before God with our raw and honest emotions. We can despair in his presence, cry out and find hope in him.

Hope
Romans 5:1-11
by Tan Huai Tze

The hope that God gives is a certain assurance that God will keep those who are his and perfect them. There is an objective basis for this hope: the love of God demonstrated in the death of Christ for sinners. But then, there is also the subjective experience of this hope when God's Spirit pours his love into our hearts.

Faith
Habakkuk 3
by Tan Huai Tze

We need faith, a trusting surrender to God and his promises to help us through this season. Through the prophet Habakkuk, we find a path to this faith through rehearsing the mighty acts of God, reminding ourselves of the character of God, and having a resolve to trust in God no matter the circumstances. And we do so joyfully when we see God's greatest act in history in sending Jesus to die and rise again for our sins.
